I started sewing in the 3rd grade. I loved the process of putting together pieces and parts to create a whole. While I was back in school for a studio art degree at UNT, I found I could put together large scale organic flowers and leaves out of paper pieces. Using techniques I developed, I found a way of hand-molding and gluing these paper pieces to create whole flowers. This felt comfortable and familiar and in alignment with the whole of my life!
