"I enjoy creating art from an idea that has come to me, and falling down the ‘rabbit hole’ of exploring it with art materials to see where it goes. The latter is very easy with my medium of choice- encaustic painting, which is painting with tinted hot wax. It is not easy to control at times, but the process is worth the occasional frustration. I enjoy how the surface can be manipulated into many different textures, and am especially fond of the ones that are smooth and lustrous."
