"I use a symbolic visual language to explore both the visible and invisible, creating commentary on relationships and thoughts. As I work, the images can be unexpected and abstract, flowing from gathered memories across a lifetime of travel and experiences. I build layers that make connections, and a story unfolds. The work evolves, and quite often, by the time the painting is finished, it has a history of stories interwoven in the layers, some of which I reveal using sgraffito. Each work of art is a journey of exploration."
